Accommodation

Inexpensive accommodation, meals and a wide range of sporting facilities are available at CTC for all mining, engineering and lump ore beneficiation students.

Accommodation is available at two hostels, namely Durain and Clarain house.

Durain House

Located on CTC's premises, it consists of the following:

  • Housing for 176 students
  • Dining room
  • Television room/Lounge

Sporting Facilities

  • Tennis
  • Volley Ball
  • Swimming Pool
  • Darts
  • Table tennis

Clarain House

Located in Reyno Ridge, it consists of the following:

  • Housing for 152 students in double rooms
  • Dining room
  • Television room

Sporting Facilities

  • Swimming pool
  • Squash court
  • Volley ball
  • Table tennis

Rugby and Soccer

CTC also takes part in the yearly IMGAS (Inter Mine Group Associated Sport) tournament in which all mining houses take part. Rugby, netball and soccer is played against the other mining houses during a week long tournament after which the winning teams are presented with trophies for their efforts at a gala event the Friday after the main events.

During the week of the tournament, a rugby, netball and soccer team, consisting of players of all mining houses, are chosen to represent the IMGAS during a rugby, netball and soccer tour.
